WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?
Luke 10

“Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

It is tragic that we mostly view ourselves in negative light—weak, lazy, and unwilling to do more than the minimum that is required of us. The demands of being a Christian seem so burdensome and we find little joy in doing the things that pleases our Lord.

Yet Jesus counts it such a privilege and honour because we are in a position to act on his behalf.

The warning that Jesus gave us is important and we do well to pay attention. Don’t be fixated on power and glory but understand the mercy you have received in the Gospel, mercy that is yours only because you were humble and repentant. When the fact that your name is written in heaven even though you deserve hell is the source of joy then surely your gratitude to the Lord will bring you joy when you are able to represent him and do his will.

Who is a Christian? They are the most lucky people in the world. They were nobodies, doomed to hell and damnation, yet by happenstance they met Jesus and through him came to know God and now have the privilege to extend their luck to others.

“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
